Our travel planner now truly listens to you

Last year we launched an AI assistant on our website for the first time. Travellers could ask it questions, share their wishes, and get an initial sense of what their trip to Indonesia could look like. It was a start — but not much more than that.

Over the past few months, we've built on it significantly. Not because we had to, but because we noticed there was so much more it could do. And because the travellers who used it asked questions the planner simply couldn't answer at the time.

What's changed

The planner now knows our tours inside and out.

Previously, the assistant gave general advice about Indonesia — helpful, but not specific. Now it knows which trips we currently offer. If you say you want 14 days in Java, it can tell you which of our tours would suit you well. Not as a sales pitch, but as real advice: "Based on what you've shared, the Java Adventure Circuit seems like a strong fit."

It learns from real itineraries we've built.

Every travel proposal we've ever created for a client contains day-by-day programmes, highlights and experiences we selected ourselves. That knowledge is now built into how the planner thinks. Not the prices or personal client details — those remain private — but the content: which combinations work, what makes a daily itinerary realistic, which activities suit which region.

You can share what makes your trip unique.

This was the feature we cared most about. Because a trip is never just a destination and a number of days. Sometimes someone in the group has limited mobility. Sometimes it's a honeymoon. Sometimes there are dietary needs, or children who need something adventurous in their day.

In the renewed planner, you can share all of this — in your own words, without dropdown menus. That text goes directly into your conversation with the assistant, so it can actually take it into account.

What a conversation looks like

You start with the wizard: destination, travel group, duration, budget and travel style. Then, if you like, a few lines about anything special. And then the conversation begins.

The assistant asks focused questions. Not too many — we've deliberately kept it restrained, because no one wants to fill out a questionnaire. It tries to build a picture of what you're looking for quickly, and then offers a suggestion.

At the end of the conversation, it asks for your name and email address. At that point, your enquiry goes directly to Robin, our travel advisor. Not as a form with fields, but as a summary of your conversation — including everything you've shared.

Robin reads it and gets in touch. Personally, not automatically.

What the AI doesn't do

We want to be honest about that. The planner doesn't make final bookings. It doesn't mention prices — those are always personal and depend on too many factors to calculate reliably through automation. And it doesn't replace the conversation with Robin.

What it does do: it makes sure you're well-prepared when that conversation happens. And that Robin knows exactly what you're looking for.

Try it yourself

Curious? Start the planner here — it takes five minutes, and you're not committing to anything. If you'd rather get in touch directly, you can always send Robin a message on WhatsApp.

We'd love to hear what you think.
