Terms and Conditions
1. Applicability
These terms and conditions apply to all agreements between Beyond Local and the traveler regarding booked tours and package trips. Beyond Local acts as a travel organizer offering package tours consisting of a combination of services such as guiding, transportation, and/or accommodation. By making a booking, the traveler agrees to these terms and conditions.
2. Booking and Payment
A booking becomes binding once the traveler receives a booking confirmation from Beyond Local. Upon booking, a deposit of 25% of the total travel price must be paid. The remaining 75% must be paid no later than three weeks before the start of the trip. If the booking is made within three weeks before departure, the full travel price must be paid immediately. If payment is not received within the specified timeframe, Beyond Local reserves the right to cancel the booking.
3. GGTO Guarantee Fund
Beyond Local is affiliated with the GGTO Guarantee Fund. This guarantee ensures that the prepaid travel funds of travelers are protected in the event Beyond Local becomes financially unable to fulfill its obligations. A mandatory contribution of €9.00 per person is charged for this protection and is included in the total travel price.
4. Guides and Local Partners
Beyond Local works with independent local guides and local partners. We aim to provide guides from our trusted local network. In some cases, guides may collaborate with partners within their professional network. All guides are selected based on experience, reliability, and local knowledge.

6. Changes by Beyond Local
Beyond Local reserves the right to make minor changes to the itinerary, accommodation, guides, or transport if necessary due to operational, safety, or logistical reasons. If a significant change is required before departure, the traveler will be informed as soon as possible. The traveler may accept the proposed change or cancel the trip free of charge if the change significantly affects the booked travel services.
7. Liability
Beyond Local is responsible for the proper execution of the travel services included in the agreement, regardless of whether these services are performed by Beyond Local itself or by local partners. Beyond Local is not liable for damages caused by circumstances beyond its control, including actions of the traveler, third parties not involved in the travel services, or unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances. Liability is limited to the total travel price unless the damage results from personal injury or intentional misconduct.
8. Travel Documents, Health, and Visas
Travelers are responsible for ensuring they possess valid travel documents, passports, visas, and any required vaccinations for their destination. Beyond Local cannot be held responsible for consequences resulting from missing or incorrect documentation.
9. Complaints and Assistance
If the traveler experiences issues during the trip, they must report this immediately to the local guide or to Beyond Local so that a suitable solution can be arranged. Complaints that cannot be resolved during the trip may be submitted in writing after the trip via the contact form on our website. Beyond Local aims to respond to complaints within five working days.
10. Force Majeure
Beyond Local cannot be held liable for failure to perform its obligations if this is caused by force majeure. Force majeure includes but is not limited to natural disasters, extreme weather conditions, political unrest, pandemics, government restrictions, transport disruptions, or other unforeseen circumstances beyond reasonable control.
11. Governing Law and Disputes
All agreements between Beyond Local and the traveler are governed by Dutch law. Any disputes arising from these agreements will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands.
